Three individuals, Abba Emmanuel, Umar Abubakar, and Kingsley Dan'sebe, have been arraigned in a Lokoja Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly impersonating Kogi State Internal Revenue officials and engaging in illegal tax collection.The trio was arrested by a vigilante group in Lokoja Local Government Area.

They face charges of criminal conspiracy, causing disturbance, and impersonation. However, they pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court has granted them bail, with the case adjourned for further hearing.

This development comes as the Kogi state Internal Revenue Service has been cracking down on illegal tax collectors. In a separate incident, 44 persons were arrested for allegedly engaging in illegal tax collection in the state.
